Partnerships For Learning is a program that was developed by Joyce Epstein, from Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore Maryland. This program is facilitated by Carol Garman, a Title I/ELD Program Specialist within our district. Mr. Martinez and Mrs. Blacher are the representatives from El Rancho who have been attending trainings several times a year in an effort to find ways to strengthen the bond and partnerships between home, school and community, in an effort to surround the "whole child," with all that is needed for a quality education.
In this program there a Six Types of Parent Involvement that we are striving to create within our school:
Parenting
Communicating
Volunteering
Learning at Home
Decision-Making
Collaboration with Community
This year we will be creating an "Action Team" that will help to facilitate various programs on our campus. Our Action Team will be comprised of Parents, Community Members and School Staff, who will all be working together to bring about "Positive" changes for our students. If you would like to find out more about El Rancho's Partnerships For Learning program or are interested in being part of the solution for a better education for our kids, please contact Mr. Martinez or Mrs. Blacher.
